Licensing the Green Dot in North America
In North America, CSR and PRO-Europe have agreed that the trademark cannot be used at this time as a financing symbol. Rather, CSR will protect the trademark in North America by charging a licensing fee, based on cost recovery, to those companies that manufacture or import products and packaging that display the Green Dot intended for the North American marketplace.
The "user agreement" license fee for calendar year 2006 is $1,200 (U.S.). This fee covers the license for products sold in North America in the calendar year 2005 and is based on a cost recovery for administering the licensing and use of the Green Dot in North America.
